Hello all, I would like to know if there is a way to translate easily C/C++ header files in Trados. Files that contains the following:

Hello all, I would like to know if there is a way to translate easily C/C++ header files in Trados. Files that contains the following:
//Comment DO NOT TRANSLATE #variable "string to translate"
From Word it is possible with the Trados tw4winPrepareRC.Main macro to make all the irrelevant strings untranslatable for RC files (Prepares a Windows resource file for translation by marking all non-translatable parts.). Is there a way to do it for C header files? That must exists as the file structure is quite simple. Thank you in advance for your posts. Merci

tw4winPrepareRC.Main can be used for header files, too

You can use the tw4winPrepareRC.Main macro for all kinds of source files with strings enclosed by quotation marks. It's not limited to .rc files.

Hi Olaf, thanks for your answer. I have tried that and it did not give me an acceptable result. Gabriel

Hello Gabriel,
I would recommend using TagEditor for this type of translation. Please read the Translating Programming Files section from the File Formats Reference Guide for more information:
Go to Start Menu -> All Programs -> SDL International -> SDL Trados 2007 -> Documentation
I hope this helps.
Many Thanks,

Do you know if there's a solution for translating C/C++ header files with Trados 6.5 Freelance (that's what I currently have)? Thank you very much in advance.
Cheers, Laszlo
