Hi all,

Is there any clever tool, plugin or third-party app that converts unclean bilingual files from .DOC/.BAK format to .TTX?

I tried simply opening the .DOC in TagEditor, but it wasn't recognized.

I know I could clean the file, open the source in TE and run it against the TM, but if there is an easier way I rather not go through the workaround.

Thanks in advance,

/J

I wish there were, though.

We had a similar discussion in here recently with someone who wanted to convert TM data from years of translation with the Word legacy process to make it TTX compatible. But no such luck.

Regards,
Benjamin

save as RTF Aug 30, 2008

I usually save the uncleaned version as .rtf (in Word), and then I re-open the rtf file in TagEditor (make sure you have closed the document in Word). When opened in TagEditor, I save as bilingual and it becomes .ttx.
Good luck!

Thanks Bieke!

I'll try this, it saves me a few steps at least....
