Hi,

I am using Trados and would like to delete all translated text and go back to the source text only Word document.

Is this feasible? Should I use a macro? If so, which macro? Or is there a way of doing this through Workbench?

Thanks for your answers.

Nathalie

Take the original file Nov 7, 2008

If you forgot to make a copy, you can use the macro in Tortoise Tagger.

The best thing is to keep a copy of the original Nov 7, 2008

The best way to work is to keep a copy of the files in every step of the working-process--better yet, keep a different folder for each step. For instance 01 Source, 02 Work and 03 Target. But you can also have more folders if you have to edit the files; I have six folders for each project: Original, Edited Original, Work, Clean, Edited Clean and To Present; it might seem like an overkill but it saves me a LOT of time. TO3000 automatically creates the folders, but I'm sure there are other apps out there that can do the same.

Good luck,

Claudia

It is not that I forgot to make a copy of the original text. I have that.

The thing is that while I was translating I spotted and highlighted a lot of errors and typos in the English source text and wanted to send a highlighted English-only file to my client. This is why I wanted to delete the target text. (The client is not used to Trados and bilingual files)

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help everyone!

Have a nice weekend!

Nathalie
