I am working with a fre->UK eng TM IN TRADOS
I have another related TM I desperately need use of, but it is Fre->US eng.
What can I do to export this so that UK eng will accept US eng - it usually doesn't - I've tried.
Please help??!!!
Thanks
Chris

Context is applicable for more than just KudoZ questions. As desperate as you are, could you spare a minute to tell us what the tools you are using actually are? The procedures may differ depending on whether you use Trados, DV, Wordfast, MemoQ or a host of other possibilities.

Is this what you are looking for? Dec 17, 2008

If you want to transform an EN_GB memory into an EN_US one:

export it,
open the export file in a word processor
replace all instances of EN_GB by EN_US.
Save it.
Then import the export file into an EN_US memory.

Of course spelling and DTP will be British.

Hope that helps

Is "Check matching sub-languages" checked? Dec 17, 2008

Normally in Trados you can import a EN-UK memory to a EN-US memory or the opposite. To do so, the option "Check matching sub-languages" in the import dialogue window must be unchecked.

Try and see, it should work
