Good afternoon,

First, I wish to all of you a Very Merry Christmas!!
I bought the pack SDL TRADOS Suite 2007+Multiterm extract. I could download with difficulty because my Internet connection is heavy (256!!). It took me a pair of day!! I downloaded Trados and Multiterm pack 1. I have to download "SDL Trados 2007 Freelance (included le Service Pack 2)". I can't execute multiterm because it is asking me a particular license ("type the port and name of the computer where FLEXlm Licence server is installed. For example : 27000@SERVER1). I don't know where is that licence. I have only the activation code!!!
Is the code in the pack 2, that I don't download yet?
Is somebody can help me?
Thank you in advance.

You will just have to download and install everything first Dec 25, 2008

FLEXim licence handler (as far as I know) is in the Freelance download batch, so you will have to download the big chunck first.

And I would assume you could purchase a CDROM to spare the trouble with slow lines.

Try this... Dec 29, 2008

Hello Sandrine,

The activation code you were provided is used to activate both SDL Trados 2007 and Multiterm Extract together. You do not require a separate license for Multiterm Extract when you have purchased the CCM Methodology Suite.

However, if you are experiencing problems with activating Multiterm Extract then please follow this knowledge base article:

http://talisma.sdl.com/article.aspx?article=2320&p=1

I hope this helps.

Many Thanks,

Gareth Powell

I have a doubt? Dec 29, 2008

Thank you Gareth for your answer. I am trying to do what it is explain in the link. But I have a doubt (English is not one of my working language!):

"Unzip the MultiTerm Extract.exe and MultiTerm Extract_libFNP.dll files from the zip KB2197 MT2007SP1 Hotfix10.zip file into this folder and replace the existing files there."

It means that I have to Unzip both of document but I don't understand why "from the zip KB2197 MT2007SP1 Hotfix10.zip file into this folder". Both of my document are in SDL international-Multiterm 2007-extract. And by the way I went to "look for" and my computer didn't find this file?

Can you help me?

can't get it to work Jan 30, 2009

I had initially used the default installation options, which resulted in some of the components, including Multiterm Extract, not being installed at all.

Upon finding this thread, I uninstalled the Multiterm altogether and reinstalled it (I had to skip the dialog mentioned in the first post, thus installing the demo version) - this time I checked all of the components using custom install.

Then I applied the hotfix and tried to launch Multiterm Extract, but I keep getting Error #101 (Error initializing) Other Multiterm components (and Phrasefinder) seem to be functioning properly.

Thanks for advice on how to handle this.

Get official support Jan 30, 2009

Hi Pike and all others,
I believe you are elligible for official SDL support on installation issues, so use your profile on TZone to contact them. Perhaps they could help you via remote desktop or VPN.

No, actually I am not able to submit a support ticket without purchasing additional support, I can only browse through solution finder and knowledgebase on installation issues, but I cannot find anything that would apply in this case. Trying some links to yahoo user groups now...

doesn't solve the problem Feb 2, 2009

Thanks for the tip, but it doesn't do the trick.

I have removed all the versions/components of Java displayed in the Add/Remove software, then removed and reinstalled Multiterm (actually, the version I downloaded from SDL pages installs jre1.5.0.12), but the result is still the same.

Then I considered the possibility that a wrong version of Java may have been packed with this build of Multiterm and repeated the procedure, but instead of letting Multiterm installation install jre1.5.0.12 on my PC, I downloaded and installed 1.5.0.10 and then installed ONLY Multiterm (I had to choose a custom install to add Administrative component and Multiterm extract, these don't get installed via default installation), but the result was once again identical.

Could anything else be causing Error #101?
