Normal.dot keeps becoming corrupted, despite having replaced it twice as per Trados support instructions. Word just crashes. Please help!

It can happen innumerable number of times in a row, if you are trying to translate a MS Word document created in an earlier version (Word 2000-2003) by opening it in Trados WB and just hitting the [CTL +] key combination after opening the translation (ALT + Home]. The matter is that there are 2 templates in SDL Trados 2007 for Word - 1 for the earlier versions and 1 for Word 2007 which is the default setting with TWB. They are hidden under different tabs in the menu. To select the right template you should use the tab on the left of the "SDL Trados" tab in the Word menu. I use the Russian version of the MS Word and the name of the tab in my language can be translated as "Superstructure". If you click on it, you will see the Trados toolbar which is somewhat shorter than the toolbar which you can see if you open the "SDL Trados" tab. This is the proper toolbar for documents in MS Word 2000-2003. Use it, and you will avoid crashing the application. At least it helped me.
