I was using TagEditor as usual, saved bilingual and target versions of a translation as I suddenly noticed that I can't get the TagEditor windows open on screen. The program shows normally in taskbar but doesn't open up on screen no matter what. I have now re-installed the whole SDL Trados Freelance 2006 but it still doesn't open on screen - only in taskbar.
Suggestions anyone - please ? On an email address directly to Trados support. Thank you!

Go to Start, use the "Run..." menu (called "Ausführen" in German). Put "regedit" there and press OK. Now you are in Registry Editor. Please be extremly careful with what you are doing there. Do not REMOVE ANYTHING!
Just open the HKEY_CURRENT_USER (click the plus sign beside it). Open "Software" within Locate "Trados" there. Open this. You will see an entry called "TagEditor". Right click on it, select "Rename" and rename it to "_TagEd... See more

Repeat the same steps for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Do not remove any of those keys!
Close the Registry Editor. Now your Tageditor should be visible again.
Oh come on, you can safely remove values named Top, Bottom, Left and Right. They will be restored next time you start TagEditor.

In fact you can safely remove more than only that. Afterwards you can remove the renamed key (the one with _TagEditor in its name).
Nevertheless, you know how it is - either you know and nothing happens or you are not aware of the danger and damage you may cause and exactly then it happens
