Not possible to add/edit terms MultiTerm Desktop after Java update?

Today I am trying to add terms into MultiTerm or edit existing ones, but this gives an Null Pointer Exception error. I cannot add any term to any of my termbases!
Might this be due to the fact that I installed the latest Windows updates yesterday?
What can I do? New registration of Trados components does not work. Does anybody know about these latest Windows updates?*
* It seems that this is due not to Windows update but to JAVA update, which I also ran yesterday!

The error is java.lang.NullPointerException.

Need help!

I searched the Knowledge Base for "null pointer" and did not get any result...
Your article seems to give the correct answer! But unfortunately I cannot find the "JAVA control panel". (I use Windows XP (German version).)

In my windows, Start, Control Panel, Java.
It should be installed.

Otherwise, search for the javacpl.exe program.
I is located in the directory like
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_07\bin
Your Java release number will be different, select the latest one.

Had the same problem.

To recap: search http://talisma.sdl.com/ for article number 2362 (as suggested)

The problem is the next-generation java plugin and this article tells you how to deactivate it:

To fix this problem:

1. Click Start and then select Control Panel from the menu. The Control Panel is displayed.
2. Double-click on Java. The Java Control Panel is displayed.
3. Click on the Advanced tab.
4. Clear the Enable the next-generation Java plug-in check box.
5. Click OK to save your changes and close the Java Control Panel.
6. Reboot your PC.
