I am a new user of Trados (Version 7.0) and want to seek help in respect of an
issue.

One of my clients has sent me a ttx file which I need to translate by using
TagEditor and I understand that I must also have the original Word file from
which the ttx file was created so as to clean the ttx file. Am I correct?

Or is there some other way to clean a ttx file in the absence of source file?

Regards,

P. Chopra

Hi "langclinic",

no, it is not possible. If you don't have the original MSWord *.doc you cannot perform any "save target only" (no real clean-up in TagEditor) or clean the ttx in TWB (Tools -> Clean Up).

BTW, if you and your client have different Trados versions, you won't even be able to save the ttx in TagEditor.
