Hi,

I just repeted my query for help in English.

I use Trados 2007 MultiTerm 2007 Freelance edition (as a beginner) and I would ask for help with making entries of terms into a newly created termbase. I created that termbase with the Wizard and that was okay. However, when I tried to enter the first term, I got the message of the Microsoft Internet Explorer "Null".

I was just working with Trados Workbench at the time. What went wrong?

I'm grateful for every help, however, I'm just practicing, not working on a project.

Thanks for all help in advance!

Annett

Could you be more specific? What interface did you use to enter the term?

Please edit your original posting Mar 22, 2009

Hi Annett,
Most participants in this forum will be unable to read your posting in German. May I therefore suggest to replace it with an English posting (alternatively, you could re-post in the German forum, of course).

Whilst you're at it, you might want to edit the posting title (to facilitate subsequent searches by others), and add the relevant system/software info.

Best regards,
Ralf

Oh sorry, Mar 22, 2009

I wasn't aware that I wrote in German. I'm not sure what you mean with "interface" here. I was working with Trados Workbench (Trados 2007 Freelance Edition) and tried to create a new termbank from there with the wizard. I succeeded until that step, the new termbank was created and then I should be able to make an entry into the termbank. That was, when I got the message displayed in a window with the heading Microsoft Internet Explorer "Null". I tried it several times but always received this message and wasn't able to enter a term.

The problem is Java Mar 22, 2009

Most probably your Java ist in version 6 update 10 or higher.
With this update Multiterm is not working properly anymore.
Please go to Start - Control Panel and open Java.
When opened go to "Advanced".
Open "Java plug-in" by clicking the plus sign beside it. Then deselect "Use next generation...". Save this setting. This should help.
If not - do you by any chance use Internet Explorer 8?

Edited to insert the image.

Changing the Java setting as described did the trick! Thank you very
much!!! I could have spent weeks over this problem and not coming
up with the appropriate answer...I already had doubts about my abilities...

It's very good to know that there are people about on ProZ.com who are
able and willing to help so promptly! You made my day!
