Good morning, I am completely baffled and am therefore turning to you for help. I was given a QuarkXPress (version unknown) .tag file to translate. It came up on TagEditor (2007) without a problem. However, once the translation was done and I wanted to preview it, instead of just having the text, I had all the codes as well. I don't have QuarkXPress and am wondering if there is a solution other than having to refuse all future work with .tag files or invest in QuarkXPress.

Thanks in advance for all help.

Hi Helena, Mar 26, 2009

If you do not have QuarkXPress, you can simply preview the target in the .ttx file

Kind regards,
Maya

I can view it but it has all the codes visible and reading back the text and visualising the presentation is impossible.

Here is an example of what I get when I do a preview!

principlesnon-toxiques,

I can't show you as the codes are being hidden here!

I think you cannot hide the tags in .ttx, Without QuarkXPress and the initial file, it is impossible to view the presentation properly.

Have you tried.... Mar 27, 2009

... using the TRADOSTagViewer Plugin?

it offers you a table view that can be customised (show/do not show tags/codes). furthermore, it colour highlights the match rate (if wanted) and I usually copy it to word and adapt a bit if needed (on longer files) before printingicon_smile.gif

however, I have only tried it on inx-files (indesign), but in principle the quark files (tag or xtg) should be previeable in the same way....icon_confused.gif

cheers,
hanne

I'm not sure how to reply to each individual posting so I'm grouping my reply! Thank you both so much for your help. I will try and find out more about the plugin. Take care, Helena
