I did not use SDL clipboard for many weeks.
Today I met with a strange situation. I copy MS Excel contents and translate with SDL clipboard successfully but cannot paste back to Excel 2007 as my translation. I can paste into MS Word etc., however.
I search Google and SDL knowledge base but find no solution. Could someone share your experience? I need help now.
Best regards,
Soonthon L.

I've had this problem with Excel too (an earlier version).

I solved it by first pasting into OpenOffice.org Calc and then copying and pasting to Excel. A roundabout way, I know, but if nothing else helps...

I did similarly: Paste to MS Word and copy to Excel.
A bit boresome.
I will tell everyone if i find a better way/cause of trouble.

It just occurred to me that in the New Translation dialog in SDL Clipboard you can click the Options button and experiment with the clipboard formats order, i.e. the one that is at the top will be used first. Maybe this will be a better solution.

Why T-Window? May 18, 2009

You can translate Excel files directly in TagEditor, so why the T-Window workflow?

As a translator, I want only to translate onlt texts, not formula or figures, in Excel files but special functions of the file make use impossible to do straightforward rekeying of words. Many CAT tools fail to convert very complicate Excel files in translatable format. [You can search on such errors in this Internet]
Clipbaord CAT tools are the most simple ones to use.
Yes, I now use T-Windows for Clipboard for the issue on the topic: though it is tedious to press keyboard to insert translations more frequently than SDL Clipboard.

Soonthon L.
