Hello

Anyone who works with software localization, specially long lifecycle products, is used to importing updates to big, basic memories. Subsets of the big memory, updated with new translations, are imported as soon as the new "version" is compiled.

Likewise, we often receive subsets that have new translation units too, but we just want to add the new one, not overwrite the already approved units we have.

That's why the options "leave unchanged" and "overwrite" for existing translation units are so important.

SDL has not include them so far, specifically in the window "General Import Options" of SDL Trados Studio 2009, which I am Beta testing...

As the launch date approaches, I guess our voting to "my idea" would make SDL consider it, if not now, for the next versions... The product is wonderful, let's ask the guys to make it even better.

Please consider voting at:

Regards

Edric

I'd love to, but... May 27, 2009

... I'm getting the following strange message when trying to log in:
Your account has not been activated yet
Categories and ideas will be visible once your account has been verified by the moderator.

Strange enough, my account has been active for more than two years... Seems like an SDL server problem.

I´ve been trying to vote since yesterday afternoon, but I keep receiving the same message.

Perhaps they said: "Close it, here they come!!!" May 27, 2009

Just kidding, but seems that the feature implementation is a rather bothersome one for the developers...

Cheers
