Is there no way of editing the source segment when you use TagEditor?

I am using TagEditor for one or two projects, to try to become acquainted with it, since I happen to want that SDL Trados Certification - which appears, these days, to be based almost exclusively on knowledge of TagEditor.

I am accustomed to correcting mistakes in the source text when I work in Word - which is necessary in order to preserve the quality of the TM.

It appears that, in TagEditor, it is not at all possible to edit the source segments. The source text seems to be as stubborn as a scanned .pdf. Is there any way of defeating this inconvenient feature of TagEditor?

You can turn off the document protection in the TE options (Protection tag).
Be careful.

Remove the check mark from "Protect Document", and you can edit the source segments, as long as they are not open.

Thank you Grzegorz,
thank you Katalin,
