Hi, I have a problem with TagEditor's Spell checker, whenever I enable the Wintertree Spell checker, I receive this message:

Spell checker does not support current target language

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!icon_smile.gif

If you are translating into Spanish, let's say into Mexican Spanish, I would recommend you to follow the instructions given by Trados, as follows:

Rename the dictionary files (*.tlx and *.clx files) in the Dict folder in the Translation Tools installation folder; by default this is C:\Program Files\SDL International\T2007\TT\Dict.

Make sure you do the following to activate your changes:

Exit TagEditor and Translator's Workbench if they are running.
As an example, to make TagEditor think it has a Spanish (Venezuela) dictionary, change the names of files Es_es.clx and Es_es.tlx to Es_ve.clx and Es_ve.tlx, respectively.

Please find below the codes you need to use for the various sub-languages:

Two-letter Language Codes From ISO 639:

Spanish ES
Two-letter Country Codes From ISO 3166:
Argentina AR
Bolivia BO
Chile CL
Colombia CO
Costa Rica CR
Dominican Republic DO
El Salvador SV
Guatemala GT
Honduras HN
Mexico MX
Nicaragua NI
Panama PA
Paraguay PY
Peru PE
Puerto Rico PR
Spain ES
Venezuela VE

Hi Clarisa. I changed the names of the files as you suggested, but when I enable the Wintertree spell check I get this message:

Have you checked the modified file names? Jun 7, 2009

Perhaps there is a typo... our you used capital letters, or "guion" instead of "guion bajo", or the file extension whas changed...

Take into account that you can also use MS Word dictionnary.
