Hi all and anyone who can help.

I've been recently asked to update a string of source text i.e. replace it with a new one, followed by its new translation. I have no idea and although I think I've tried everything, I probably haven't.

Any input is welcome

Thanks

Ivan

Hi Ivan,

Go to Tools - Options - Protection - Protect Document - Uncheck. Then you should be able to edit all text in the ttx file when you have no segment open.

Bear in mind that manually editing ttx files may lead to problems when saving back as target or cleaning up, for example when accidentally deleting tags.

HTH
David

Yesterday first, today second Jun 7, 2009

Yesterday, 2 hours after my answering this question, there was still only 1 answer (mine). Today I wanted to check if my answer was useful to discover that my answer came second. Why? It seems illogical to change the order of the answers.

Hi István,

That's because proz.com won't publish my answers directly. They seem to check replies from new members before publishing them. I have no idea how I can escape this, unfortunately. Maybe they will change their policy for my account after having seen a handful of "non-spamming" or whatever postings from me.

Cheers,
David
