Hi folks, my TagEditor does not want to open anymore and this seems to happen exactly with the worst timing possible... See more Hi folks, my TagEditor does not want to open anymore and this seems to happen exactly with the worst timing possible... I have to work on a huge project with a quite tight schedule and... after finding something in the ttx-file that it did not like, TagEditor decided to shut down and doesn't want to open again. Until midday I was working with Trados 2007 than, due to this problem, I decided to do downgrade to SDL Trados 2006 (exactly: Version 7.5.0.756) While uninstalling Trados 2007 I received an error concerning that it was impossible to open TagEditor, but the uninstallation process seemed to be okay anyway. Then I installed Trados 2006 and during the installation process I got the same message concerning the fact that TagEditor was not able to open. Now when I try to open TagEditor I receive a message telling me that TagEditor found an error and must be shut down. I have clicked on the details of this message an it is telling me that the problem resides within tradospluginmgr.dll Okay, what should I do next? I am very frustrated and once again quite upset about another weird behaviour of a trados application. Any fast help would be very much appreciated... Should I have forgotten some useful information, please forgive me. I will be glad to provide you with any further information you should need. Thanks a lot in advance, Francesco ▲ Collapse

Hi Try the following: Click on START > Run... Type in: regedit and confirm with OK Follow the folder structure: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Trados\TagEditor Press delete to delete the \TagEditor folder Try now to start TagEditor again. This helped me sometimes to resolve some annoying TagEditor issues. Cheers

It seemed to fix it for at least TagEditor reopened and I could open files but I cannot save anything anymore. Each time I try to save, TagEditor crashes. I also get the following message when trying to open some files: -2147467261 invalid pointer 400007: error reading ttx file: the input ended before all started tags were ended. last tag started was 'Tu' I figure, I should re-install the TagEditor but I cannot even do that anymore! When I double-click on the installation icon, it tells me Trados 2007 is already installed and that's it. Does someone know how to get an new activation code for Trados on the internet. I dare not uninstall the software in the control panel before having a new activation code... I have to hand in my job 3 hours ago and am despairing to fix the problem... THanks for any help! I started experiencing this problem with TagEditor only very recently (on my Windows Vista PC). Some days the application opens fine, but other days, like today, nothing happens when I try to open it. I found this thread and it worked like a charm. 4 years later, your trick still works. I had to start again from a new ttx file as the file itself had been corrupted in the crash. Thanks a lot.
