Hello,

The SDL Support team are holding a Getting Started presentation which will cover the basics on installing and licensing your new SDL Trados Studio 2009 software on your computer. We will also be answering the most common licensing questions mentioned on this forum.

We are holding two of these meetings and the first starts today at 15:00 GMT (apologies for the late notice). If you would like to join this meeting then please visit the following link:

http://translationzone.com/en/news/events/june2009/installing-and-activating-sdl-trados-studio-2009-09-06-09.asp

We will also be holding another support meeting on Tuesday 16th June. I will update this post as soon as I have more information on this.

I hope you can attend.

Many Thanks,

Gareth Powell
SDL Support Team

Don't forget the tar and feathers ;-) Jun 9, 2009

And a rope of course. When using Trados I've often felt inspired to look for a rope. Like they said about Nixon: now, more than ever!

But I could not get any sound so it was a waste of time. But I will try again tomorrow if there is another one!

GMT? Jun 9, 2009

Just a quick one, I believe that GMT is one hour behind the current "summer time" (BST), i. e. the training would had to start only 30 mins. ago then.

I'll be trying again next week. Jun 9, 2009

There's another session next Tuesday at the same time (3 pm GMT), which I hope to join if the reminder arrives on Monday. If that goes pear-shaped, I'm sure the event will be posted in the webinar archive at some stage.

I imagine it'll be quite popular.

For Europeans only Jun 9, 2009

Do these people have to *$%& up everything?

Make an instruction video, put it on YouTube and send a link by e-mail to everyone that ordered Trados. A 10-year old could do it.

No, SDL has to have a badly prepared, half-baked webinar. They probably couldn't find the e-mail client list.

These guys are completely clueless. What a mess!

Surprising Jun 9, 2009

I'm kind of surprised that they're not charging for this - and charging for the secret of activating the product.
