Hello,
a customer asked me to care about a proofreading job.
They sent me the text in the source language and later two further files: the translation and a .bak file.

How should I proceed with the proofreading using Trados? I ma not that confident with the CAT Tool

Thx

Ketty

Open the *bak file in MSWord Jun 24, 2009

Hello Ketty,

simply open the bak file, which is a bilingual file, in MSWord, switch on track changes and proof-read the translation. That's it.

(Got no reference TM?)

Client instructions may vary, i.e. (s)he might want a version with track changes on and a "clean" one, which in this case means that you have to accept all changes, save the file with a slightly different name (or according to client instruction)....
