I would just like to check with one or two other people whether termbase search is supposed to work in the manner that it does with my copy of Studio.

1. I copy the term that I know is in the unrecognised termbase into the "termbase search" box and click on "Fuzzy search" (even though I know that the exactly matching term is in the termbase).

2. The "termbase search" box turns a bright blue colour (like a blue sky), and it is empty - just blue all over.

3. I start clicking around randomly with the mouse in this blue box and terms begin to appear, if I click in exactly the right place. Each term is written in black on a label of its own having a white background.

4. If I find the right term in this manner and right-click on it with the mouse I then get the option to insert it, and it is inserted into my translation.

Is this how "termbase search" is supposed to function? It seems very haphazard to me. It is more like one of those games where you win a prize if you randomly click all over a page and then suddenly click in the right place.

Astrid

Too tragic to laugh Jun 30, 2009

Pardon me, Astrid, but thanks for the laugh. Your comparison is hilarious. If it weren't so tragic it would be funny.

The more postings I read about Studio the less I understand why so many people took (and keep taking) the plunge and upgraded to Studio in its first version, willing to face daily aggravation while stumbling upon bug after bug, actually doing the job that the quality control crew should have done before releasing a software riddled with them. No, thanks, I will wait.
