Hi, I am using TRADOS 8 S-Tagger for Frame Maker to convert MIF (Version 7) to RTF and the back again. The problem I am facing is that when I convert the un-clean Japanese RTF files back to MIF, the Japanese character are corrupted. I have also changed the Regional and Language settings of my computer to Japanese but I still get the same problem

Is there a setting in TRADOS 8 S-Tagger for Frame Maker that I nee to set so it works with Frame Maker version 7 MIF files.

I appreciate any help

Thanks

Select "symbol" in S-tagger. Jul 22, 2009

You have to select in S-tagger for Framemaker in settings Type of character "symbol".

Then when you open the mif file, you should change type of letter to "Ms Gothic" or "Mincho".

I hope this information hepls you.

Thanks for the info, can you please explain when you say

How do i change type of letter to "Ms Gothic" or "Mincho". Is this a tag within the MIF file.

Should this be done on the MIF file before converting to RTF for translation.

Thanks
