Error on opening Synergy

Hi again all,

As I was so successful in rapidly obtaining help in my last post, I'm knocking on your doors again!

With SDL Trados 2007, when I click on the icon to start, I always get an error message saying Synergy was unable to start and Windows would search for a solution to the problem, but there is never a solution.

Any ideas why that would be? Only since I started working with Vista Home Premium...

Hello Nancy,

There are a couple of things I recommend you try. First, please try the solution from the following knowledge base article to see if it helps:

If this does not help then the problem could be that the User Account Control feature may have prevented a full installation. I would highly recommend turning off UAC and then reinstalling SDL Trados 2007.

Please follow these instructions to turn off UAC:

1. Go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts
2. Select the "Turn User Account Control on or off" option
3. Un-tick the option "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer"
4. Select OK to save all changes.

You will need to restart your computer. Once is has rebooted, please reinstall SDL Trados 2007.
