Hello,

Some time ago, I posted a topic http://www.proz.com/forum/cat_tools_technical_help/143117-extract_translate_nested_sentences_in_ini_files.html#1200665 about working with INI files.

I used the Regular Expression filter to do the job, so I added *.ini to the supported file formats. Then I added some external patterns (=") (= ") ... and it worked ut fine. I translated the files (about 200) until I finished reviewing and I decided it was time to convert them to their original format.

I used SDL Trados Synergy for PM, so I selected all files from within a folder (there are 4 folders) and finalized them. It seemed to work fine, but what I got was the same result as the source file. Where has the translation work gone?

I re-opened an unclean ttx file I had translated and tried to save a target copy on my desktop. This time it worked out, but I do not understand why I should open all single 200 unclean TTX files in order to obtain a clean and translated file. Is there no way to batch the unclean files to clean ones without losing my work? Should I re-modify the Regular Expression filter?

Thanks!
Joris

Problem solved Sep 2, 2009

Thanks to my CAT trainer & tutor Bruno Ciola, I found a solution.

I cleaned up all ini.ttx files directly from the WB (no Synergy).
Then I renamed all .ttx files (clean up does not deliver clean .ini files but .ttx files) using the Dos prompt command (rename *.ttx *.ini) and I got clean .ini files.

Quick & best solution so far,

thanks anyway!

Joris
