Error when using Trados 5 to translate tables

We are in desparate need of higher guidance...we have till this Monday morning to hand in a translation which contains two {REF} with a blue line under them which refer to the table below (when the cursor touches said {REF} the words "active document" appear).

We followed the advice of the pdf. Trados manual: entering in "Translation Memory Options", in "General" and ticking the "Copy Source On No Match" option.

This stopped the "active document" appearing, but this did not solve what has been the real problem which is that when we try to translate the table an error occurs which sends our translation of the table to the section where the aforementioned {REF}s are to be found thus messing up everything.

The table itself is in colour, its title is in EPIGRAPH
and the columns are in MSOLIST PROGRAM

Please send word ASAP as time is running out!!!

Thank you, than you, thank you in advance

Bookmark handler Oct 4, 2009

I believe the problem is due to cross references.
You should use the bookmark handler. I know it works for the latest Trados version. You will find a detailed explanation at http://www.stpnordic.com/tfaq.html Using%20Bookmark%20handler.pdf

Kind regards

Clarisa

We tried this that but our version doesnt contain function Oct 4, 2009

We followed the instructions however in our Word 2003 with Trados 5 there is no icon ]![ in the tool bar.

The problem is the bookmark which is found at the table which has two bookmarks in the text. These bookmarks show the label "active document" and whenever and how ever we treat them (either bringing them down or not), when we get to translating the table heading it shows the error "Cursor must be in source target field" and the translation is then duplicated at the other two bookmarks (if that is what they are)....ruining our text!!!

Anyway, if there is anyone who has faced or knows of such problems please get in contact....we are counting the hours....

Thank you for your rapid response, and we look forward to , and thank in advance anyone who might help.

Could it be the T4Win....the same as footnotes?? Alt1....there might be one for these so-called bookmarks????

Yours with the deepest of gratitude,

Ric
