I have imported a translation memory sent by my client and cannot open it in trados. I get the above message. I have consulted the Trados manual and found the following, but I don't understand and am not sure what to do.
This error typically occurs when opening a translation memory. In this case it indicates that you have
moved or copied the translation memory to a new location without moving or copying all translation
memory files.
In all other cases, be sure the file you are trying to access actually exists.
Can you suggest something please?
THank you!
May I add that the import is done successfully. It's opening it when I'm in workbench which is the problem....

How many files?
Nov 27, 2009
Hi Nathalie,
each Trados translation memory consists of five files. Make sure you have all five and all of them are located in the same folder.

SDL Trados 2007 and the file is a tmx file 1.4.
Hi Natalie,
the file you are trying to open is a TM export. TMX is a universal format to exchange translation memories between the different CAT tools.
You cannot open this format directly: please proceed as follows:
1. Open Translator's Workbench and create a new TM with the correct language pair
2. In Translator's Workbench go to File > Import, under File Type select TMX 1.4b and import the file into your fresh TM.
That should be all.
