Hi again,

the other problem I have, since I made some "Undos" in Word 2003, working with TWB, is the following:

When I click on the arrow "Open/Get", it looks like this:

{0>
Das ist ein Test. (in a light blue window, as usual)

This is a test. (in a green window, also as usual)
Das ist ein Test. This is a test.

no cleaning Nov 30, 2009

I did not clean it, she wants it as Trados file. I forgot to mention, my TWB version is 7.5.0.759, and my OS is XP Pro. I know that TWB is very sensitive to Undos, but in this case I did one too much, and the sh*** happened

Thanks again!

Normal Behaviour Nov 30, 2009

That is exactly how a Word document looks after you have translated it and before cleaning it up. The problem is that normally you do not see this as the tags and the source text are hidden text. For some reason it appears that you have enable view hidden text (this behaviour is common if you try to delete a tag and it is to prevent you accidentally deleting the hidden text). I no longer work in Word 2003 so I cannot remember the commands to hide the hidden text again. There may well be a shortcut to do this on the toolbar - I can reproduce the symbol here but it looks like a backward P with two stalks and the middle of the P filled in.

tags visible Nov 30, 2009

The problem is that it should look like this:

after clicking on "Open/Get":
Das ist ein Test (in blue window)
This is a test (in green window; that's the translation I typed)

after clicking on "Set/Close" it should delete the original text and look like this:
This is a test
and NO tags should be visible! I can't get rid of them and my document looks ugly! Maybe it's just a question of settings, but I don't know where...

Thank you!... See more

Not a problem, but a feature Nov 30, 2009

If you search the forums with 'hidden text', you will find countless threads related to this feature.

Nothing wrong Nov 30, 2009

You should always have hidden text visible. This is how it looks normally. You are able to see both source and target.

Heinrich

shortcut to view/hide hidden text Nov 30, 2009

If you want to toggle hidden text on and off (the backwards P as Jim describes it), the short cut is Ctrl+shift+7
Hope this helps
