I try to open a couple of SDLX itd files in Trados Studio 2009 but I receive the following error message: "Unexpected exception during file detection: IAD files are not supported." Source: ITD v. 1.0.0.0 Can somebody provide some insight?

Perhaps one idea

Hello Thanos, I've never come across this message because I rarely work on ITD files. But I would try to open the ITD in TagEditor, save it as TTX, open the TTX in Studio, and then save target as ITD. That should be working, unless - of course - you want to work directly in SDLX.

Method already tried - no success

Hello Stanislav, I have already tried this method but when I save the itd after opening the file in TagEditor I get an itd-file, not a ttx. I can open and tranlate the itd in TagEditor but not in Studio 2009.

Even if you save it as bilingual?

Hi Thanos, if you save it in the bilingual format, you should get a ttx.

Are you using SP1
Dec 16, 2009
Hello,
A problem similar to this is reported in our database as resolved with SP1, although the reported bug then related to a user who had installed the original Beta and had a problem that was resolved by reinstalling SDLX. Can you make sure you are using SDL Trados Studio 2009 SP1? The version in Help-About should be 9.1.1107.0.
If you are, then perhaps reinstalling the latest version of SDLX will help.
Regards
Paul
