Greetings,

I have a really big issue.
I'm translating a 15000 words project and while I'm doing it from .ttx, I like to convert it to .doc (delivery format) to check how it is going...

Sadly, when I try to convert to .doc, I get the following message:

"Unable to locate original file D:\XXX\YYY\file. Please copy this original file into directory above and try again."

How come? The original file IS in the damn directory and it will not recognize it... How do I do? D:

Thank you all,

Lucas Rayel

Check the file name Dec 16, 2009

Hi Lucas,

Double check if the file name is correct.

See also the following thread:

Hope it helps,
Hynek

Hey Hynek,

I've double checked the file name and it's ok.
I've also seen that thread and it didn't happen at all... Nothing seems to work

Regards,

Lucas Rayel

Ist the file name and path in TTX heading still the same? Dec 16, 2009

Did you create the TTX yourself?
If yes, then indeed you have a problem or simply overlooked a dot or so in file name.
If not, check the TTX heading (open in Notepad) and adapt the path and filename there to match your system.

Kinda worked Dec 16, 2009

Jerzy,

It was the outsourcer who have created the TTX.
I've opened the it in Notepad and I've checked that a ".doc" at the end of the file's name was missing... I've added that and it has converted BUT now I get this error while trying to open the .doc file:

"Word could not initialize mswrd632.wpc converter"

I've tried to install it but I don't have the office CD.

Though it's not a TagEditor issue anymore, it's strange it's giving such a message...
