I have just purchased Trados 2009 and I was wondering how I can make use of my existing translated texts source and target (in Word) by importing them into the translation memory as I am about to translate similar docs with Trados.

Use WinAlign Jan 7, 2010

Hello,
you can use WinAlign to load the source-language and target-language documents, align the segments to create translation units, and export these into TMX.
Once you have done this, create a TM in Trados Studio and import the TMX into this newly created TM.
