Quick question about AutoSuggest, which I have been using and find useful: when does an AutoSuggest dictionary update itself (or does it)? I've been working through a long document and it seems like AutoSuggest should have started predicting some of the terms that come up really often, but it doesn't seem to be doing so (i.e. new terms from this doc not already in the AutoSuggest dictionary from previous TM content).

No, it does not: needs to be regenerated Jan 12, 2010

No, you need to regenerate the AS dictionary from time to time, if you feel that you are finding some repeated words in the current job that it would be nice if you had them in AS (not in it because the memory had not them by the time AS dic was created).

Sometimes it gives the impression that it updates itself, but that's just because the expression/word was in the memory and we don't remember. Since AS is created using the whole memory at once, you have to regenerate it.

I know it would be great if it did, etc. etc.icon_smile.gif

Unfortunately it does not work that way but Jan 13, 2010

you can always add frequently occurring terms to the termbase and they will appear in autosuggest along with therms from Autosuggest Dictionary

In 2009 Studio adding new terms is really very easy and quick.

Best Regards
