I'm using SDL Trados from 2007 and Microsoft Office 2003. In Word, I've had no problem using the Trados template to open the toolbar in Word to start translating.

In Excel, I'm not sure where to begin. I assume there must be a way.

Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Use Tag Editor Jan 14, 2010

Formats other than Word files are handled by Tag Editor, and that applies to Excel files as well. Nothing complicated, but you might want to read the manual first. Good luck!

But I would always copy the content to Word first, because Trados is VERY slow with Excel-files. In Word you can either load the file into TE or translate in Word.

Is Trados 2007 compatible with MS-Office 2003? I tried it before, but seemed to be not working on my machine...

Trados 2007 is compatible / functional with MS Office 2003.

I would always copy the content to Word first, because Trados is VERY slow with Excel-files. In Word you can either load the file into TE or translate in Word.

I had no significant speed issues with Excel files except for first opening, but anyway, how do you maintain formatting then after copying to Word?
