Hi

I just bought Trados Studio 2009 through Proz.com group buy. I'm happy, because I saved a lot of money, but I'm a little concerned about the manual. I know, that people who buy Trados via the Polish distributor www.lspsoftware.pl get Polish manual. Do I get any manual at all? I'm quite good to find out how to work with CAT tools general, but I'm not that good And it's impossible for me to take part in any training in the next couple of months, beside webinars.

Do anybody have an answer?

SDL Trados has very good documentation and manuals, Jan 21, 2010

you will find some already on your computer in Menu Start and more in your account at sdl.com look for section regarding examination and certification - each exam has its own corresponding manual. Unfortunately AFAIK there is no official manual in Polish. After all maybe it's not that bad as this software does not have Polish interface neither

Good luck and if you have some specific questions which have not yet been answered on this forum, just ask.

Justr contact 'em.
AFAIR, the Polisk manual was also sold separately.

PS.
Support your local dealer.
In case of problems, his help may be priceless.

Local dealer claim 100PLN every time they support you. IMHO crazy price. And even the best discount from them was nothing compared to group buy discount on Proz.com.

Well.
If you have no PSMA, you have no individual support from SDL at all.

So, if you have only one or 1 or 2 major problems by year, it's cheaper than PSMA.
But I was thinking mainly about licensing problems.
If SDL support doesn't respond, the local dealer is able to kick 'em and solve the problem at no charge.

BTW.
It's a normal support price in the IT.
I'm a little bit cheaper than 'em but you'll find it expensive too

No
You're wrong.
AFAIR the best price I saw there was sometihing like 300 euro + VAT.
You should follow their pricelists a little bit closer

If you want to know the principle, follow my discussion with Stanislav Pokorny

It was in November. But I have money now and don't want to wait to... who knows And as far I know Proz.com buy is legal in the eyes of the Polish distributor.

Sad but true

Who knows... but I don't expect a very rapid offer like that...

Yes, of course, it's legal but their customers receive this manual for free, AFAIK.
