Quite often when opening a new segment in TagEditor, the text I type into the target segment becomes bold, even though the source segment is normal. The buttons for bold, italic and underline do not work, but make an error sound when pressed.

Should be OK Feb 2, 2010

In TagEditor, even if your text looks wrong (bold when it shouldn't be, etc.) your final document will come out correctly when you save it. That's assuming that all your tags are in place exactly as in the source segment.
Have you checked what it looks like after saving and opening in the original application?

This does not affect the output Feb 2, 2010

TagEditor handles all formatting through tags. In order to switch the output format to bold, you need to have a tag with the contents < cf font="Arial" bold > (if you use Arial) -- and so the way the actual text is displayed in TagEditor (whether it is bold, italicized, red, whatever), is immaterial. Check it out by saving the target file.

Format changes are an important issue when you work in Word using TWB but not in TagEditor.

Kind regards,

This is only screen formatting Feb 2, 2010

And TBH I never understood what this should be good for, when working with tagged format.
But nevertheless, prior to creating further TTX files change some settings in Filter Definitions and be happy of this never happening again in the future.
The corresponding setting can be seen here:
