Hello,
This may be a stupid question, but I have not found a way to show only the target segments so as to be able to run a spell check in Word using Trados Freelance 2007.

Thank you for your help.

Hide the source text to run the spell check Feb 3, 2010

To be able to run the spell check you need to hide the source text using the button on the main task bar in Word similar to a mirrored "P" (=end-of-paragraph).

Or you can go to Tools - Options - Display, where you have to check "All" under Non-printable characters if you are using Office 2003 for example.

Good luck!

Hide the "hidden text" Feb 3, 2010

Hi,
what about unchecking the "display hidden text" checkbox in "Tools"->Options? Then you see only the target text and can perform the spellcheck.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. So simple! Feb 3, 2010

It is so simple! It WAS a stupid question.

I had tried with the button for hidden symbols similar to a P as Liselotte says, but it did not work until I unchecked the "display hidden text" in the options.

Thanks a lot Angelika and Liselotte.

Does pressing Ctrl+comma a few times work for you? If it does, you may have to re-enable "Hidden text" later in your Word settings again.

Another shortcut Feb 4, 2010

I always use ctrl+shift+8 shortcut for hidden text. It works in Word and Trados.
