Hi,

I'm using Trados 2007 suite.

How is it possible to have a shift in repetitions and no match, while 100% match stays more or less the same?

When performing an analysis with an empty TM, and an number of repetitions exists, shouldn't that number of repetitions be the maximum? E.g. when you perform an analysis with the same untranslated file with a TM that does have TUs, shouldn't the number of repetitions then be either the same or lower, but NEVER more?

Below 3 analysis of the same file, the first analysis with a TM dated yesterday, the second analysis was performed by the client with the TM of today, and the third is the analysis with an empty TM.

I don't understand why there are more "repetitions" in the clients' analysis.
Any thoughts? More importantly, do I have a problem?

I also noticed during translation that the "repetitions" slowly dissolve into 100%, meaning that at the end of a translation the analysis shows everything 100% match, I don't understand why a repetition doesn't stay a repetition, no matter the category, no match or 100%.

Thanks,
Ronald

Segmentation rules Feb 10, 2010

Your segmentation rules (i.e. the way how text is brocken into segments) and client's ones may differ, so it influences the wordcount.

See "File-Setup-Segmentation rules" in your Trados workbench and ask the customer to send theirs, then compare tem with each other. If they differ, that could be the reason.

what is the correct segmentation rule? Feb 10, 2010

Thank you for your reply.

So, the client most likely has a different set of segmentation rules.
Do you know where I can find more information regarding the definition of a correct segmentation rule?

Ronald
