I have SDL Trados 2007 and Office 2003 installed.

Some time ago the Trados option disappeared from Word's top drop-down menu.

When I start Word this option can be briefly seen but then it disappears.

The Trados toolbar and the Trados' flagman icon are visible and they work normally, but I can't use the options that can be used only from the drop-down menu.

I renamed the template and restarted Word, but this did not solve the problem.

Does anybody know how to solve this?

Many thanks in advance,

trados disapeared from the drop down menu (office 2003) Feb 14, 2010

This is a known issue with office 2003.

2 things to do:

- Delete the template (as mentioned by everybody), it will be regenerated next time you open Word.

- locate the original (it is in the subfolder Program file - SDLxxxx - T2007_FL - TT - Templates ( Then copy it and paste it in the subfolder Word - Startup (a few folders under the template folder where there is the

You might want to create a subfolder under Word or Startup with a copy of the template. It will be easy for the next time (and there will be multiple next times!) to do it.

Another solution, invest in Office 2007, it works and the template never (at least on my side - 4 computers) needs to be changed.
