I have SDL Trados 2007 and Office 2003 installed.
Some time ago the Trados option disappeared from Word's top drop-down menu.
When I start Word this option can be briefly seen but then it disappears.
The Trados toolbar and the Trados' flagman icon are visible and they work normally, but I can't use the options that can be used only from the drop-down menu.
I renamed the normal.dot template and restarted Word, but this did not solve the problem.... See more

This is a known issue with office 2003.
2 things to do:
- Delete the template normal.dot (as mentioned by everybody), it will be regenerated next time you open Word.
- locate the original tradosx.dot (it is in the subfolder Program file - SDLxxxx - T2007_FL - TT - Templates (Trados8.dot). Then copy it and paste it in the subfolder Word - Startup (a few folders under the template folder where there is the normal.dot).

You might want to create a subfolder under Word or Startup with a copy of the Trados8.dot template. It will be easy for the next time (and there will be multiple next times!) to do it.
Another solution, invest in Office 2007, it works and the template never (at least on my side - 4 computers) needs to be changed.
