Hi,

I am working with SDL Trados 2007 (freelance) and so far I have not been able to use the Find and replace function in TagEditor to make individual and general replacements. What am I missing?

Thanks a bunch in advance!!

Haydée

Disable document protection Mar 21, 2010

Hi Haydée,

Here is a suggestion: try disabling document protection.

Edit mode Mar 22, 2010

You can also double-check that you're in Edit mode and not View mode.

Thank you Mihai and Jenni,

I unprotected the document and that did the trick. Now, I can´t quite follow if I am in Edit or View mode. Whic one should I be in? I have External tags checked in View mode, nothing in Edit mode.

Thanks a lot!!

Haydée

Hi Haydee

In the View menu, under View you have the option of displaying "Edit" mode (that's the bilingual view you would normally work in), Source or Target (these latter too show a monolingual source or target view).

If you look at the bottom of the TE window, you'll see Edit, View (twice with the flag symbol for the language = Source and Target) as well as 2 Preview buttons for Source and Target languag.

HTH.

Thanks again! Mar 22, 2010

Thanks, Rebekka,

I see what you mean now. It's bilingual edit mode. I thought there was something to check in Options, thus my disorientation.
