Studio 2009 error: Index was out of range - urgent problem

Hi

I'm working with a .docx file, with track changes on (and Studio 2009 set accordingly). As this is a big, urgent file (isn't it always the way!) and I anticipated problems, I checked just as I started the translation that I could move from Trados back to Word OK. Everything worked fine. However, I've just finished the translation, and I can't now get a Word copy of my work, as Trados gives the following error message:

"Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index"

Needless to say, I'm afraid I don't know what an index is in this context - if I did maybe I could have solved the problem!

I've tried renaming the file (usually tricks Studio into working!), that doesn't make any difference.

I've tried converting the file to Word 2003 (which is the version I have on my PC), but I can't get the track changes to turn off, and Studio 2009 won't open the file with the track changes, despite having set it to do so.

I really hope someone will be able to offer some advice, because I've exhausted my ideas, and the delivery deadline is soon!

Many thanks for any help you can give,

Caroline

Same problem - did you find a solution? Jul 27, 2010

Hello Caroline,

I've been scouring the internet trying to find a solution to the same problem that you had. I don't see any replies to your message. Did you find a solution? If so, would you mind telling me what you did?

Thanks,

Carrie

Hi Carrie,
Thanks for your message. I must have solved this problem at the time, but I'm afraid I can't actually remember how. In future, I will make sure I post the solution when I find it, but I'm afraid I'm unable to help you on this occasion. Interestingly, I had an e-mail on the same subject just the other day, so it's obviously an error which comes up occasionally.
My apologies for being absolutely no help!
Kind regards, and best of luck,
Caroline

thanks anyway :-) Jul 27, 2010

That's a pity - it has driving me crazy all afternoon! I'm glad you got it fixed though. I've seen a few things online about the same error message appearing in other software so I suppose it must be fairly common. I think in my case it has something to do with me translating an Excel spreadsheet but I don't really know. Thanks for your reply anyway.

Carrie
