Connection problem while connecting to sdl license server
Thread poster: ASDFTINE

Hello,

when I try to activate my Trados 2007 on Windows 7 I get the error code 50041.
The Trados support FAQ says, that this means there is a connection problem with the license server.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to deal with this kind of thing?
I am not very advanced in doing this activation stuff, so I would appreciate any help.
Thanks a lot

Tine

Did you deactivate your anti-virus program and/or your firewall during the activation attempt?

Are you sure Trados 2007 runs onder your Win7? As far as I know the only way to do this is with a Windows 7 Professional version or one other whose name I can't remember, not the Home version anyway, create a virtual XP machine & run Trados 2007 on the Win 7 machine under virtual XP. Though I would be very happy if anyone showed me how to do that in a less complicated way. Susanne

Hi Tine,

Did you try to follow these instructions in the Knowledgebase?

http://talisma.sdl.com/article.aspx?article=2298&p=1

Try this first and if it still doesn't work then either use the Solution Finder using whatever scenario you get next, or come back to this forum.

Regards

Paul

Hi,

If you are using SDL Trados 2007 Suite Build 8.3.0.863 then this is supported under W7 platforms. All you should have to do is install it in the same way as you do on other platforms.

Paul
