my SDL Trados version: 8.3.0.863

I've found two topics that have dealt with this issue.

1. http://www.proz.com/forum/sdl_trados_support/116233-a_error_pop_up_when_i_cleanup_ttx_to_inx.html

My client tells me, however, that the inx files only have one layer. The link provided by Trados support does not help solve my issue.

2. http://ita.proz.com/forum/sdl_trados_support/98924-inx_files_with_sdl_trados_2006_freelance.html?action=Reply&quote=1&post_id=817375
However, the link http://talisma.sdl.com/display/2/kb/article.aspx?aid=1723 opens a blank page so I can't download the hotfix.

Is the hotfix still relevant for me? If not, how do I resolve the problem.

TIA!

some progress but what about Windows 7? Apr 15, 2010

Alright, I've made some progress and have actually found the hotfix and TradosFilter downloads here: http://talisma.sdl.com/display/2n/index.aspx?tab=sf&r=0.1685528

However I don't seem to be able to find the Filters folder described in step 5.

"Copy and replace the IndesignFilter_1_0_0_0.xml file in the All Users Application Data folder, by default:

* c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SDL International\Filters"

I've searched Users/[my name]/AppData/local/SDL International and Users/[my name]/AppData/roaming/SDL International but haven't found the Filters foldericon_frown.gif

Searching for IndesignFilter_1_0_0_0.xml on the HDD only finds the xml I just extracted from the hotfix.

Where do I copy it in Windows 7?

BTW, Trados is only accessible to me, not to other users of the computer, hence my searching in my own folder rather than Default/All Users.

1 step further Apr 19, 2010

OK, with the help of a friend I have located the Filters folder in Windows 7 and replaced the xml.

In case anyone needs to know this, this is where it is: ProgramData\SDL International\Filters.

However, the problem is still not completely resolved. I still receive the following error: Resource (tag) with id '

Problem solved at last Apr 19, 2010

by recreating the TTX files after installing the hotfix and filter settings app as suggested here: http://www.proz.com/forum/sdl_trados_support/133229-impossible_to_clean_a_tageditor_file_please_help_.html

Unfortunately, this did not completely solve my problem.

After saving the TTX as target and consequently editing the TTX, the same problem occured. For a few days, I kept recreating the TTX until I'd finalised the translation.

Then it occured to me to try and replace the localised INX (created by saving a TTX as target in TE) with the original source INX and avoid re-creating the TTX. It worked. The error only seems to occur in the INX files that result from Save target as.

Restore filter settings Jul 21, 2010

In case this helps anyone, I just had this problem and none of the solutions posted worked.

I finally went into Filter Settings and clicked "restore default settings" both for Java Virtual Machine size and for InDesign CS2/CS3.

After that, everything worked.

I should add that I'm using TagEditor 8.3 and that the same problem was happening with Studio. I created the INXs.
