Hi,

How can I get the TM out of a bilingual (uncleaned) Word file, if I only have that file. Am working with Trados 2009.

Thx in advance,
Pascal

With using Trados 2007 May 10, 2010

Bilingual Word docs and .ttx files are Trados 2007 territory.
You first of all need to populate a Trados 2007 TM with the bilingual file, then convert that TM to a Trados 2009 TM.
But first of all you need to save the bilingual file as a Rich Format File - .rtf in Word.
If you are unfamiliar with Trados 2007, here is what to do next:

Open Workbench
Create a new TM
While you have the TM open, goto Tools > Clean Up...
Add the bilingual .rtf file
Make sure that Update TM is ticked
Press Clean Up

This will update the TM, which you can then convert in Trados 2009.

I hope that you'll find this useful. If you have any issues, then I'll be watching this spaceicon_smile.gif
