I've just finished a long manual and tried to save as target, but received the message:
Missing bookmark end tag with name: _Ref246155372. Writing to Word document not possible

I use SDL Trados Studio 2009.

Thanks in advance.

Successo anche a me Jul 23, 2010

Con l'unica differenza che l'end tag si chiamava bookmark35

Sei riuscita a risolvere il problema?

Ti sarei veramente grata se potessi condividere la soluzione che hai trovato.

The answer is already there Jul 23, 2010

Missing bookmark end tag with name: _Ref246155372.

You have deleted a tag - verify your document with F8. Read the error messages. By double clicking the message the program will take you where the error appears. Insert ALL missing tags. Then your document should be produced without any problems.

missing bookmark end tag with name OLE_LINK1 Dec 26, 2010

This happened to me too, and after trying to clean the .ttx document. The error message is following: missing bookmark end tag with name OLE_LINK1.
I reviewed it twice, checked number and type of tags, and the message still appeared, the I redid it from the beginning (I copied the source texts into the target line with tags and then I pasted the translation, but I conserved the original tags and the error message is still the same.
I did the tag verification and there is no error.
Does anyone know what to do? Or where can be a problem?
Thanks

I use Trados 7.0

Test the source document Dec 26, 2010

Open the source again in TagEditor.
Try to save taregt - if it works, the problem is a missing tag or incompatibility in format. If it doesn't, the problem is the source file itself.

Thanks, Jerzy.

It doesnt work and the error message is the same as I wrote before. So now the only thing I can do is send it to the agency, or?

Try "Open&Repair" in Word Dec 26, 2010

Start Word, press CTRL+O, select the file and instead of clicking "Open" click the arrow pointing down besides the word "Open" and select "Open & Repair".
Save the repaired file.
Use this file in TagEditor.
Should this not work, try opening the source file in Open Office and storing it as Word.
Please also take an upgrade of your software into account - Trados 7 is fully outdated now.

Your suggestion just saved me from being late (or worse!) on a big important project.
The 'Open & repair' worked for me.

Open Office Mar 1, 2011

I was able to clean a file with similar problems; after repairing with Word it still did not clean with Trados 2009, but by saving as Open Office and then processing in Trados I was able to clean it up. This is really annoying since it takes a lot of time. WORDFAST (demo version) cleaned the same problematic file without any problems at all... I think I will change to Wordfast

Jerzy, thank you very much Mar 12, 2011

Jerzy, your advice about Open Office finally helped me, though I had to save the file as .rtf via Open Office.
