I get this error message when trying to open MultiTerm in Trados 2007:

'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.'

Could anyone tell me what this could mean?

A few questions Jun 17, 2010

Hi Marie,
allow me a few questions first:
1. What is your OS?
2. What versions of MultiTerm have you installed?
3. How did you try to launch MultiTerm?

My assumption:
You installed MultiTerm 2009, launched Synergy 2007 (alias Trados 2007) and clicked on one of the links in the "Terminology" group.
It is not possible to launch MultiTerm from Synergy, unless you have installed MultiTerm 2007 too. The link in Synergy refers to MultiTerm 2007, not MultiTerm 2009. Therefore, if you want to launch MT 2009, you will have to use the shortcut created in your "Start > All Programs > SDL > MultiTerm 2009" program group.

I hope this helps. If not, please answer the three questions above first.

Same problem here with Word document Jul 16, 2010

Hi there,

I receive the same error message when I try to open a Word document in Tag Editor.

I am using SDL Trados 2007 Freelance (TagEditor, Version 8.0) and I cannot open this particular document.

COuld anyone help me please? I have seen that most solutions seem to relate only to the cleaning of .ppt or .xls files...

Thank you!
