Hi everyone,

I'm trying to use Multiterm convert in my new laptop (Windows 7) and I can't.

I choose a new conversion session, then I select "Microsoft Excel format", and the following error message appears:

SDL Multiterm Convert - Conversion Options (3/7)
Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.

Clase no registrada (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

I click Continue but it doesn't work.

Anyone knows a way to solve this problem? I never had this problem in my Win XP desktop.

Wild guess... Jun 25, 2010

Could it be your version of MS Office?

I don't think so Jun 25, 2010

Hi Kjersti,

I don't think that could be the problem because I have the same MS Office version in both computers.

Best regards

There are some information that is missing but here is what I know:

If you have MultiTerm 2007 on 32bit OS:

Close all SDL applications.
Run the "#_SelfRegister_Desktop.bat" for MultiTerm 2007 from within the folder:
C:\Program Files\SDL International\MultiTerm 2007

Try again to use MultiTerm Convert.

If you have MT 2007 on 64bit OS:

Does not work.

If you have MultiTerm 2009 on 32bit OS:

Should work without problems but in the post before only when you have at least Excel 2003

Also you can try to get rid of this by running the component registration for MT 2009 by running the "vSelfRegister_Verbose.bat" from following folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\SDL\MultiTerm8

If you have MultiTerm 2009 on 64bit OS:

Should work too if you have at least MultiTerm 2009 SP1 installed. The first release wasn´t compatible to 64bit enviroment.
