Hallo,

I am translating using tag editor, and the tags of the original are not the same as the tags of the translation. In fact, the exact same problem as here: http://hin.proz.com/forum/sdl_trados_support/157517-trados_studio:_tag_changes_on_ttx_import_export.html

Tag damage example:
Original: ...DisplayText="pageNum"...
Studio: ...DisplayText="crossreftype"...

What do I do- c"opy source" and copy the original tag? Or leave it as it is.

Is only my second tageditor translation. Sorry if this is a basic question...

Regards,
Anu

Look if it matters Jul 9, 2010

Save the translation to target and look if it looks ok (if you have the software for the source file). Maybe TE uses some internal list for tags, and your tags refer to this list.
I never even look what tags there are, only use those blue symbols.

Regards
Heinrich

ALT-Insert Jul 9, 2010

To copy the source segment into the target segment, use the Alt-Insert shortcut.

You can also modify the tag protection in Tools > Options > Protection, to only protect 'external' tags. This will allow you to copy and paste the source tags into the target segment.

Thanks for your suggestions. I went on to protect the tags as Marie-Claude suggested.

Anu
