Hi all,

I use Trados Studio 2009, and a client asks the following:

"plus ‘ini’ settings file (this must be the settings file that you use with TagEditor when you do this job)"

How do I set up this 'ini' file for the project?

Thanks to all for your helpicon_smile.gif

Do you have the original file or the ttx? Jul 12, 2010

For ttx no settings in Studio are necessary.
If you have the original file, you could use the ini directly in Studio, but when the customer asks for TagEditor file (ttx) you will not be able to deliver such.
So my advice would be to create the TTX file in TagEditor using the ini file there and then translating the TTX in Studio, where the ini is not necessary.

INI files have been replaced by File Types in Studio Jul 14, 2010

Studio does not work with INI files anymore, it uses File Types instead.

However, you can create a customer or project specific file type from an existing INI for XML type documents. You do this by going to the Project Settings, then to File Types. Click on NEW, select 'XML', type a name for the file type, click 'Next', and in the next window, select "Define settings based on INI, ANL, XML, ..." and point to the INI file you received. Studio will then create a new filetype based on this INI file.

The same can be done from the XML file itself in case the customer does not provide any INI.
