Hello,

I am using Trados 2007 and by the way I was negotiating some translation, the agency I am translating for sent me a .log file to prove me that there is less words than I said. There wouldnt be any problem if the text was link-free, but it was not, in fact, there were so many links that normal and any other counting application showed 9700 words while the agency claimed its 6700... Im inclined to believe that, but if you know how to open this log file (through what?) Id be very helpful.

Cheers,

Michael

It is a plain text file .. Aug 27, 2010

which you can open in any editor, such as Wordpad, Notepad, UltraEdit, etc.

Links are placeable Aug 27, 2010

Links are generally long strings without translation. Your normal count e.g. in Word or text editors can gives large number of words. I guess you translate with a CAT tool, and they are placeable [beware! do not convert them to start troubles].
