no connection to MultiTerm

I have Trados 2007.

When I open a new segment, the MultiTerm window shuts down. The message in Translator's Workbench reads "Couldn't connect to MultiTerm. Probably not running."

I never had this problem before. I use MultiTerm all the time.

Does anybody know why this is happening?

Please reregister MultiTerm Sep 19, 2010

Close Trados and any other Trados-related application.
Please look at your HHD, find the location programes are installed, open that folder.
Find the SDL International folder, then a subfolder for Multiterm.
Within it you will find a file called "*selfregister*.bat" - I do not have the exact name, as I do not have MT 2007 installed anymore on my machine. Nevertheless please locate the one with "selfregister" in name (but without "no silent") and execute it by double clicking.
After the batch terminated you can start your Trados again. The problem should be solved.

No, this repairs just the registry entries for the program itself Sep 19, 2010

This is something similar to a repair installation, but much shorter.
The batch registers the necessary modules of MultiTerm in the Windows registry again and repairs broken keys there.
You can trust the process - no damage will be done either to your system or your termbases.
I have been using this many times before.
