Dear all,

I've noticed that the autolocalisation feature of Studio works fine in general, only the format it uses in German is incorrect! There should be a non-breaking space between the day and the month in long format. Is there any way to change this? The function isn't worth much if I have to correct every single entry...

Best regards,
Erik

A bit more info Sep 20, 2010

Hi Erik,

The format Studio uses is this for German;

Default short date format
23.08.2005

Default long date format
Dienstag, 23. August 2005

All short date formats
23.08.2005
dd.MM.yyyy
dd.MM.yy
d.MM.yy
d.M.yy
d.M.yyyy
yyyy-MM-dd

All long date formats
Dienstag, 23. August 2005
dddd, d. MMMM yyyy
d. MMMM yyyy
d. MMM yyyy

Studio will look at the date format in the source and try to ensure that a recognised date in the source is correctly interpreted into the date required by the target language. Perhaps you could provide some information on the following;

1. The languages and sublanguages you are working with for source and target
2. A screenshot of what you get with the relevant segment made active

Regards

Paul

Dear Paul,

Studio recognizes and interprets the format correctly (I'm working from Dutch into German). What I mean is that the long date format ("Dienstag, 23. August 2005") needs to have a non-breaking space between day and month instead of a regular one.

Thanks for looking into this.

Regards,
Erik
